Does the tattoing hurts?

Hi ladies, sorry I was missing for a few days!!

The worst I have heard about pain after a tat is that it felt like a "rug burn" . During the procedure I would hope whoever works on you has good numbing anesthetics. I can't imagine someone tattooing you with no anesthetic. If they want to, find someone else!!!

If you have a flap and there is no sensation, then you will have no pain. The level of discomfort is equal to the level of feeling in your reconstructed breast. It will usually smart for about an hour after the tattooing as the anesthetic wears off and then lighten up and just be a little sensitive to touch or pressure for 24-48 hours.

Many of my clients say it was hardly any discomfort and they didn't even notice it except for changing the bandages.

A question about nipple reconstruction

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been AWOL. Had the creepin crud for a week and it got me down!!!!

The levels of iron oxide in pigments is very small. The pigments manufactured for areola pigmentation have very tiny particles which should not cause a shadow on an MRI. As was already said, just tell the MRI tech you have the tats. They deal with this on a regular basis and thousands of women have tats and MRIs all the time. It's good of you to be cautious and ask questions though. It is good to be informed!

There is the possibility of some tingling or redness in the tat area but I personally have never known anyone to have this side effect, I've just heard the rumors.

Had my tattoo today.....

It all depends on how dark they are to begin with. The darker you start with the longer they will last. I would say anywhere from 3-5 years before you need a touchup. You will still see a faint version of the color after this time. A lot of areola colors will fade out to a soft peachy-orange color, at least that's what I see doing people who had it done years ago. I try to use very neutral light beige colors on most so they soften to a color found in nature!!!! I have also seen some that still look good after 5 years so who knows.... Every color and technique is different from artist to artist.

Had my tattoo today.....

Yes it will be a little tender for a day or so. Should be better soon. Keep it clean and moist!

nervous about nips

Hi Annie!

Thanks for the email!! You know when this all finished and you have your tats done, it will draw your eye away from the scars and the ripples. I know it won't be perfect but I have had so many women tell me they don't even notice the imperfections after the tattooing because it draws their eye to that area instead, so have faith and don't give up hope.

I hope we can work out a situation where I can help you.
