Andrea V. Barrio, M.D. is a breast surgical oncologist at the Comprehensive Breast Center at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania. She is also the associate program director for Bryn Mawr Hospital’s breast surgery fellowship program, which is accredited by the Society of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Barrio earned her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. She completed her surgical residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the Philadelphia Academy of Surgery. Dr. Barrio specializes in the surgical treatment of breast cancer, and offers expert care for both benign and malignant breast disease.
Dr. Barrio’s research interests include accelerated partial breast irradiation in early stage breast cancer patients and etiology, treatment, and prevention of lymphedema.
