Jamie DePolo, senior editor of Breastcancer.org, oversees the Research News program and the Breastcancer.org podcast. She has more than 20 years’ experience crafting science stories for non-scientists in a variety of media, including print, radio, video, and online, as well as extensive experience developing and executing strategic communications plans.
“I’m very proud to be a part of Breastcancer.org,” Jamie says. “It’s extremely gratifying to hear from women who tell me I’ve helped them understand something about this disease or their treatment. I admire the courage of anyone who’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.”
Jamie earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in English literature, both from Michigan State University. She also has taken many, many black and white photography classes and worked part-time as a radio station disc jockey for 8 years. Before coming to Breastcancer.org, she worked for Drexel University, the New Jersey State Bar Association, Michigan State University, and The Detroit Metro Times.
